This is just me having fun with type and photo. It’s a font specimen using the Statistic face by Anthony Dart. I combined the strongest glyphs of the face and came up with “NORD OPPS 2008″. I was lucky to be able to spell something slightly meaningful.
My goal was to combine Statistic with a strong, singular image. It is purely exploratory. Aesthetics was my guiding principle.
I was inspired by Dart’s own specimens. But whereas his are a bit flat (not a criticism), mine has more dimension and contrast. It’s an amazing display font and most of the credit for this piece should really go to Anthony.
